FILLING INSTRUCTIONS

Properly filling a cartridge is integral to the product’s success and ease of use.
Below, find a thorough set of instructions and warnings to ensure peak cartridge performance.

PLASTIC / GLASS SCREW-IN CARTRIDGE

FILLING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take off rubber plugs located on the 510 thread and mouthpiece.

  2. Insert a filled blunt tip needle, preferably sized 14g or smaller, into the chamber between the inner chimney and outer wall.

  3. If heat is required to fill, it is recommended to keep the temperature at 140F or less. The maximum acceptable temperature is 160F.

  4. Dispense oil into the upright chamber, up to the gasket located on the chimney.

    1. DO NOT OVERFILL: Overfilling can cause leaking and residual oil on the outside of the cartridge.

    2. DO NOT FILL IN CENTER POST: Filling in the center post could block the airpath and cause leaking.

  5. Clean cartridges with water-diluted <50% alcohol isopropyl solution.

CAPPING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Hand-Thread mouthpiece onto the filled cartridge, and avoid overtightening. If using an assisted capping machine, make sure to adjust your settings accordingly to avoid overtightening as well.

  2. Make sure to cap the cartridge immediately after filling to create a proper pressure seal.

  3. After the cartridge is filled and capped, place the rubber plugs back on the 510 thread and mouthpiece.

  4. During the minimum 2-hour ceramic core saturation period, the cartridge must be in an upright position.

  5. While using keep voltage at or below 4.2V for optimum flavor and power output.

GLASS PRESS-IN CARTRIDGE

  1. Cap the cartridges by hand or use an arbor press to assist with capping.

    1. CAPPING: If using an arbor press, do not exert too much force. Please note that once the Press-In is securely ‘seated’, it cannot be removed.

AXIOM CARTRIDGE

FILLING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat is required to fill the Axiom Cartridges. The maximum temperature to be used should not exceed 220 degrees Fahrenheit or 104 degrees Celsius.

  2. Insert a blunt tip needle, preferably sized 14 gauge or smaller, filled with warm or hot oil into the plastic chamber between the inner chimney and outer wall.

  3. Dispense oil into the chamber while keeping the cartridge upright.

    A. DO NOT FILL PAST THE CENTER POST.

    B. DO NOT OVERFILL: Overfilling can cause leaking and residual oil on the outside of the cartridge.

    C. DO NOT FILL IN CENTER POST: Filling in the center post could block the air path and cause leaking.

  4. Make sure to cap the cartridge immediately after filling to create a proper pressure seal.

  5. FOR ANY RESIDUAL OIL, CLEAN WITH DILUTED ISOPROPYL SOLUTION. 50% ISO ALCOHOL OR LESS, 50% WATER OR MORE.

CAPPING INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  An arbor press is required to cap the Axiom cartridges – a special jig available upon request.

  2. Insert the bottom 510/ceramic base onto center post/chimney.

    A. Be sure the inner metal ring is fit around the center post/chimney before pressing.

    B. Be sure outer metal ring is around the outer housing before pressing.

  3. Apply arbor press pressure until the base locks into place.

    A. Do not exert too much force. Once the cartridge is ‘seated’, it should be capped and unable to come off.

  4. After the cartridge is filled and capped, place the Rubber Plug back on the 510 thread.

  5. Flip the Cartridge right side up to allow saturation of the ceramic core for at least 1-2 hours before using the cartridge. This is to ensure the ceramic core fully saturates to provide the best user experience.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

  1.  CLEAN WITH DILUTED ISOPROPYL SOLUTION. 50% ISO ALCOHOL OR LESS, 50% WATER OR MORE.

    A. The plastic used is very highly resistant to terpenes but it requires a less aggressive solution for cleaning residual oil off the cartridges.
